The Czech Republic has resolved problems with the Italian-provided fire control system and will soon begin production of the CZ-M4 upgrade of its T-72 tanks. This includes (besides the Italian Galileo fire control system) a new diesel power pack made in Israel, a laser warning system, new-generation explosive reactive armor, and a new communications system. The Czech Republic will convert about 30 tanks a year with the first entering service about the end of next year.--Stephen V Cole
