The United States Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $72.5 million contract on 1 March 2002 for the assembly of 135 Abrams Integrated Management (AIM) tanks and the procurement of long-lead materials for the next production year. In the AIM program, M1A1 Abrams tanks are completely disassembled and overhauled to a like-new condition. The 135 tanks are scheduled to be delivered by June 2003. - Adam Geibel
