Israel complains that Syria is working on missiles with chemical warheads. The Syrians are known to have Sarin nerve gas, and US intelligence says that Syria is close to weaponizing VX. Syria is known to have Scud-B and Scud-C missiles (range up to 500km) and to be working on an extended-range missile that Israel calls the Scud-D (range 700km). The Scud-D has a smaller warhead (only 350-450kg) and is less accurate, but otherwise uses similar liquid-fueled technology.--Stephen V Cole
