Kimber Manufacturing has begun offering a new very small .45-acp pistol known as the Kimber Ultra Carry. It is designed for concealed carry by police officers who want to retain the powerful .45-acp cartridge without the bulk of the classic 1911A pistol. The slide is stainless steel while the frame is aluminum. It weighs only 25 ounces, and is 6.8 inches long and 5.6 inches high. The grip is 1.25 inches thick. The single-column magazine carries six rounds. Retail price is under $800.--Stephen V Cole
