Soldiers and civilians wanting to try out for the Green Berets must enlist for five years, be under 30 years of age, have at least a high school degree (equivalency certificates are not acceptable), a general technical score of 110, and at least 85 on the Defense Language Aptitude Test. By the time they finish infantry training, they must score 229 out of 300 on the physical aptitude test with a score of at least 60 on all three events.--Stephen V Cole
