The secret information sold to the Russians by FBI agent Robert Hanssen included the most critical of all secrets, the "sources and methods" used to gather intelligence. With this information, the Russians would have been able to prevent the US from gathering some information while feeding false information through other channels. This raises serious questions about how much the US can trust the intelligence it has gathered (particularly that gathered in support of arms control treaties) for the last 15 years.--Stephen V Cole
