The US Naval Research Laboratory has tested its first real-time hyper-spectral target detection system mounted on a Predator unmanned drone. Designated as the Wide Area Reconnaissance Hyperspectral Overhead Realtime Surveillance Experiment or WAR HORSE. The goal is to detect a target and pass high-resolution images of it to nearby ships in real time.--Stephen V Cole
