The US Navy, which had planned to buy sixty HV-22 Ospreys for search and rescue, resupply, and special operations, has informed the Marines that it may well cancel this plan and use H-60 BlackHawks for these missions. This would be another (and a major) blow to the program. The Navy insists that this decision, which is yet to be finalized, is economic and is not related to recent scandals over maintenance and crashes.--Stephen V Cole
