There are so many new sights available for combat rifles, that someone finally developed a device that allows mounting more than one sight on the standard Picatinny system mounting rail found on American rifles. The MARS (Modular Accessory Rail System) has a top rail for mounting day and night-vision sights, and two side rails that can be moved or removed to as needed for other devices. MARS was invented by Michael Haughen, a retired Special Forces soldier. He noted the need for such a device, and was able to make it happen when he went to work for the Remington Arms Company.
