The USS Mount Whitney leads the formation of ships from 12 different countries in the first day of Baltic Operations exercise, Baltic Sea, June 8, 2009. This is the 37th iteration of BALTOPS, and is intended to improve interoperability with partner nations by conducting realistic training at sea with the 12 participating nations.
