 Taliban gunmen attacked an Afghan border post on the Pakistan frontier, wounding four soldiers. In the ensuing pursuit, a thousand pound smart bomb was dropped on the wrong compound and 11 civilians were killed. Meanwhile, further south, Operation Resolute Strike continued, with American paratroopers and Special Forces arresting 41 suspects, and later releasing 34. 

In the north, warlord battles left six dead.
