Serbian sources reported an ethnic Albanian woman and her four-year-old son were badly hurt in an attack in southern Serbia near the town of Bujanovac. Gunmen opened fire on the family while they were traveling in their car. Serb authorities blamed the attack on ethnic Albanian extremists who have reappeared in the south. The Serbs contend a splinter extremist group wants to sow trouble and prevent (quote) the integration of the Albanian community into Yugoslav political institutions.
