Bulgarias former chief Muslim leader, Mufti Nedim Gendzhev, has accused his successor (Selim Mehmed) of failing to stop Islamist radicals. Specifically, Gendshev said Mehmed is not stopping radical Wahabi imams from agitating in Bulgaria. Bulgaria has about one million Sunni Muslims.

UNMIK reported a Kosovar policeman was shot and killed in an ambush near the town of Pec. Two men were wounded in the attack. All three of the casualties were men working with the Kosovo Police Service, which UNMIK is training to take over police duties in Kosovo.
