In Kyrgyzstan, politicians are hiring bodyguards, as supporters of the ousted president use violence and threats in an attempt to regain power. The former government survived on corruption, and the corrupt politicians are still out there, eager to hang on to the money. The corrupt officials have found that they can hire hundreds of people to act as demonstrators, as long as the police do not use lethal force. So far, the police have not.
