The EP-3 has been partially disassembled (engines and wings removed) and flown out of China in a chartered Russian An-124 cargo plane. The disassembly and removal cost $5.8 million. The US Navy has allocated $45 million to convert a P-3 recon aircraft to an EP-3. It's also possible that the EP-3 from China may be reassembled and refurbished, but engineers have to take a close look at the disassembled aircraft first.
