In Karachi, Pakistan, a bomb hidden in a copy of the Islamic holy book the Koran, exploded and destroyed a bookstore owned by a Kashmiri independence group ( Jaish-e-Mohammad). Last week, two members of Jaish-e-Mohammad were shot dead in another Pakistani city by unidentified gunmen. Karachi, however, has been the scene of much religious and political violence (killing over 4,000 in the last five years.)
