The army is sending three battalions of infantry to guard the the Arun gas field in Aceh and the 80 kilometer long pipeline that carries the gas to a port. The government is losing $100 million a month when this facility is closed by rebel unrest.  In the capital of Aceh, a grenade was tossed at soldiers, leaving two two soldiers and three civilians wounded.  Meanwhile, the head of the army, and many other senior officers and government officials are openly discussing the need to refuse "illegal orders." In particular, these discussions are about ignoring orders from besieged president Wahid.
