 While the armed forces has agreed to gradually give up their seats in parliament, and many of their other civil powers, there is still tension between military and police units. For decades, the military were a law unto themselves. But over the past few years, the police have begun to treat soldiers as any other citizen when it came to crime. But it is still the case that arresting a soldier for assault, robbery or drug dealing can result in his army buddies coming, with their weapons, to the police station to free the prisoner. This continues to result in small battles between troops and police.
