  Religious conservatives that control the police and courts have stepped up their attacks on private parties that allow men and women to dance and drink alcohol together. Such parties are becoming more frequent, especially in the cities. Anti-government demonstrations are also more common, especially after sporting events. The religious conservatives have been importing more foreign Islamic radicals to provide muscle to confront these demonstrations. The police are increasingly reluctant to do it.
