The navy continues to shut down Iraqi oil smuggling, and seized am Iraqi ship that tried to run the blockade. The ship was searched and found to be carrying 3,000 tons of oil. For years, the navy allowed Iraqi smugglers to move through Iranian coastal waters before heading for the high seas and customers for their smuggled oil. In the past year, the navy has cracked down on any Iraqi ships entering Iranian waters.
