: Reports of a string of firefights in southeastern Turkey: The Turkish Army said that on August 25 three PKK guerrillas were killed in a firefight near the town of Beytussebab in southeastern Turkey (Sirnak province). One Turk soldier was killed. On August 30 Turk Army troops killed seven Kurdish rebels in the mountains near the town of Semdinli. Three other PKK guerrillas were killed in an action in the eastern province of Tunceli.
