The European Court of Human Rights ordered Turkey to pay one of its Kurdish citizens, Ihsan Bilgin 36,600 euros for damage to his home, plus 35,800 euros in expenses. Turk police wrecked his home in the town of Batman in what the police called an "anti-terrorist" operation. No terrorists were found. On November 9, the Turkish Army reported that its troops killed five PKK guerrillas in the province of Bingol.
