US troops in Basilan are working energetically to use their recon UAVs and P-3 patrol aircraft to work out techniques for finding the ever moving Abu Sayyaf bands in the mountain jungles of the 1700 square kilometers of Basilan island. The US troops are having some success, but it is coming slowly. However, whatever is learned here can be used elsewhere.
