On Basilan, police arrested the son of a Abu Sayyaf leader. The arrested man had a reward of $3,000 offered for his capture. In the northern city of Tarlac, two Moslem students resisted arrest. One student was killed, and the other captured. Both were found to be carrying pistols and grenades. The captured man said he worked for a previously unknown organization; Haraka and that their leader was an Arab called Sheik Hamod. Meanwhile, in the south, police raided a house containing a bomb factory. Two men were killed, three arrested and several bombs and bomb making material recovered. Another bomb went off in the southern city of Cotabato, but there were no injuries.
