An RPG was fired at the city all in the southern city of General Santos. 

Police say they have proof that Khair Mundus, who was arrested last week, obtained $89,000 from al Qaeda supporters in Saudi Arabia, and delivered the cash to Abu Sayyaf members in the Philippines from 2001 to 2003. The money bough rifles, speedboats and explosives, all of which were used for terrorist attacks. One of the attacks killed a US Army Special Forces  soldier in 2002. Other al Qaeda bagmen have been arrested lately, which confirms two things. One is that the upsurge in terrorism is propelled by cash, and that a lot of the money has been coming from Saudi Arabia. Some of it comes via Indonesia, where terrorist group Jemaah Islamiya has long received financial support from Saudi religious charities and wealthy individuals.  

The financial support for Islamic terrorists went against the policy of most Islamic separatists (mainly the MILF) in the southern Philippines. So the Islamic radicals broke off from MILF to form organizations like Abu Sayyaf.
