AFP reported two more bridges were destroyed by pro-Ratsiraka troops, this time in the Mahajanga region (northwest Madagascar). One of the bridges spanned the Mahajiamba River. A subsequent report said the bridges were blown up as part of an attempt to stop a movement by Ravalomanana forces operating in the area.
