The Burundian government claimed that 45,000 Burundians have left five "regroupment camps" in Kanyosha, outside of Bujumbura. This comes after an agreement was reached by peace negotiator Nelson Mandela (on June 7) that all "internees" would be released from the "regroupment camps" by July 31. As we've noted before on FYEO, most (though apparently not all) of the "regroupment camps" have served as little more than detention camps for Hutu guerrilla sympathizers.
