: The US government extended political and economic sanctions against Sudan for one more year. The sanctions were imposed in 1997 by the Clinton Administration. The sanctions could have expired November 3. This means that the US still officially regards Sudan as "acting against the security interests of the US." That translates into this: Sudan is still a terrorist state or terrorist harboring state, in Washington's estimate.
