Uzbekistan, Tajikhistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan have signed a joint defense and security pact to defend each other against Islamic extremists. The pact provides intelligence and military cooperation; each nation pledges to stop radicals on its territory from attacking the other countries.--Stephen V Cole
