The government has decided to take back control of the FARC demilitarized zone. Some 15,000 troops are moving in and, initially, warplanes hit 85 rebel targets.
Elsewhere, a joint FARC/ELN unit defeated AUC militiamen 450 kilometers southwest of the capital, killing at least 18 of them.
