The drought conditions that have ravaged North Korea's agriculture for the past five years has now hit the south. Some 20 percent of the army has been called out to help save the harvest and deliver water to islands that have none to drink. The drought is the worst recorded since modern weather data was monitored in 1904. In the north, scientists the drought is the worst in centuries. The planting season in the north has been a disaster, with almost all crops ruined.
