Some 200 rebels attacked a police station 350 kilometers west of the capital. At least five policemen were killed. The rebels are blaming the new king for the killing of nine members of the royal family. The rebels are trying to undermine the new king by portraying him as the puppet of capitalist forces. In the southeast, rebels kidnapped and killed a village chief. Two teachers were also taken, but later released.
